Lisa’s Low-Fat Oatmeal Cookies with a Kick of Tiger Tea January 29 2015


If you think low-fat means low flavour, give yourself a good kick: A kick of Tiger Tea, that is. You’ll flip over the delicious and awesome explosion of taste that Tiger Tea unleashes on these low-fat oatmeal cookies.   Cinnamon, cloves, & star anise add sweetness, while turmeric & cardamom give your cookies a kick of a little OH YA! One bite and you’ll be kicking and screaming for more.

1 C unsweetened applesauce

1 C brown sugar

2 eggs

2 T milk of your choice

2 t pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 C flour of your choice

1 t baking soda

1/2 t salt

2 t Tiger Tea original or Serious Black Pepper Tiger Tea  (straight from the bag)

4 C oats

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1 C chocolate chips (optional)

Oven 325F (165C).

Whisk wet ingredients in large bowl. Sift in flour, soda, salt & Tiger Tea. Whisk it all together. Toss in the rest of the ingredients and stir like crazy. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 12 minutes. Cool for about 5 minutes before devouring.
